INTRODUCING
DUKE II

DUKE
II – 7 MONTHS
I am happy to introduce
Duke II. I received him last Sunday
evening, July 22. He had lived “tied up”
and his owner was gone most of the time as she worked two jobs. Needless to say, Duke wants lots of attention
and this past week I’ve done my best to be with him as much as possible. Each day I see improvement. Now, when I leave him he doesn’t bark as much
and I see him being better at being alone for a period of time.
Many times Duke II reminds
me of Duke I in his manners and actions.
He is a Golden Lab/Husky mix. His
mother was a Black Lab and his father was a Husky. Duke II is seven months old and now weighs 55
pounds. I think he is a little thin at
present but that will change over the
next few weeks. I look forward to being
able to let him sleep inside at night and to be inside from time to time.
Today, I let him loose
while I was mowing and he explored the area around his new home and came back
to where he had been tied. Each day now
he will get to explore and soon it won’t be necessary for him to be tied up.
It is really nice to have
a dog again.
